- Top of Africa
- Museum Africa
- Traditional Healers Market
- Constitution Hill
- Fordsburg – it is a major centre of Indian and Pakistani culture and features many halaal restaurants. The Oriental Plaza, created by the apartheid Government as a centre for Indian-owned shops, is now an icon of Fordsburg and a major shopping experience in Johannesburg.
Constitution Hill is one of Joburg’s most impressive heritage landmarks. Built by the British as a colonial fort, it later became a prison and today houses a number of museums, as well as South Africa’s modern Constitutional court. The urban views from the old fort ramparts are among the best in the city, and there is much to occupy your time beyond the museums. For lunch stop at The Hill, a bright and breezy café located in one of the old fort’s prison yards where you can literally walk in the footsteps of heroes – Nelson Mandela was incarcerated in this very block in 1962. On the first Saturday of every month.
